Return & Warranty

At Sofara, we are dedicated to ensuring your complete satisfaction with every purchase. This policy sets out your rights and our obligations under applicable Canadian and British Columbia consumer protection law, including the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA) and the Consumer Protection Act.


SECTION 1 — RETURN POLICY

1.1 30-Day In-Home Trial

You may return eligible items within 30 days of delivery for a refund, less applicable transportation costs. To qualify:

  • Products must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging
  • Items showing signs of use, damage, or modification will not be accepted
  • Custom or special-order furniture, final sale items, and replacement parts are not eligible

Note:
Under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, consumers may have additional cancellation rights for certain service-based contracts. A 10-day statutory cancellation window may apply.


1.2 Damaged-on-Arrival Replacement

If your order arrives damaged, Sofara will arrange a replacement within 14 days at no cost.

To initiate:

  • Contact customer service within 48 hours of delivery
  • Provide order number and photographic evidence
  • Receive written replacement authorization

1.3 How to Initiate a Return

Step 1: Contact customer service with your order number
Step 2: Receive written return authorization
Step 3: Ensure items reach our warehouse within 30 days
Step 4: Refund issued within 3–5 business days after inspection


SECTION 2 — FEES & REFUNDS

2.1 Transportation Fee

A flat-rate transportation fee will be deducted:

Sofara-arranged pickup
CAD $149 (pickup) + CAD $149 (delivery) = CAD $298 total

Customer-arranged return

  • Customer bears all shipping costs and risks

Disclosure:
All fees are disclosed before purchase and are non-refundable after delivery services are completed.


2.2 Refund Method & Timeline

  • Refunds issued to original payment method
  • Processing time: 3–5 business days after inspection
  • Additional bank delays may apply

2.3 Packaging Requirement

  • Original packaging must be retained
  • If unavailable, a restocking fee may apply (communicated in advance)

SECTION 3 — WARRANTY POLICY

We stand behind our craftsmanship with one of the strongest warranties in Western Canada.


3.1 10-Year Structural Frame Warranty

Coverage:

  • Frame breakage
  • Joint failure
  • Structural integrity issues

Promise:
We will repair or replace the frame under normal residential use.

Eligibility:

  • Original purchaser only
  • Non-transferable

3.2 2-Year “Everything Else” Warranty

Covers:

  • Springs & Webbing: Loss of resiliency or snapping
  • Stitching & Seams: Separation or unravelling
  • Foam & Fill: Abnormal loss of resiliency

Note: Slight softening of foam is normal and not a defect.


3.3 Fabric & Upholstery

  • Fabric warranties are generally provided by manufacturers
  • Sofara provides a 2-year warranty against seam slippage or tearing under normal use

SECTION 4 — WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

Not covered:

  • Misuse, negligence, accidents, fire, flood, or natural disasters
  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, fading, cushion softening)
  • Unauthorized modifications or improper cleaning
  • Fabric pilling or fading from regular use

Important:
Your statutory rights under Canadian and British Columbia law are not affected.


SECTION 5 — WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

Step 1: Contact customer service
Step 2: Provide proof of purchase + photos
Step 3: Claim review by Sofara
Step 4: Repair, replacement, or store credit issued

Shipping Costs:
Customer is responsible unless stated otherwise.


SECTION 6 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Sofara’s liability is limited to:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Store credit

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Note:
This does not exclude liability for personal injury or override consumer protection laws.


SECTION 7 — GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES

This policy is governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
